Two sets of records are kept by the Centre, these being:
1. Centre Records
These records may only be set, equalled or broken on Centre Championships Day.
New records will be recognised when:
•Track events:- at least two official watches are used to take the winning times. If the times differ, the slower of the times will be accepted as the official time.
•Field events: the winning distance or height has been sighted by the Referee and verified correct.
2. Best Ever Records
These may be set, equalled or broken at any ground, but only at the following carnivals:
•Centre Championships, where the performance is also a Centre Record
•Zone, Regional, Multi, State and National Championships, where a competitor has recorded a time or distance.
In each case the performance must be verified by the Centre Championships Officer(s).
Only published results will be used.
Trophies are awarded at the end of the season at our Presentation Day, for those athletes who have shown regular attendance (at least 60%) and for other achievements throughout the season.
On top of these records the are also the Standing records. These record will never be broken because of either the event format has changed or the weights or distances are different to the current ones.
